Technical Oversight Committee: Meetings & Calls

Technical Oversight Committee WIGIMS Call, July 7, 2004

Meeting Materials

  • Call Notes PDF, DOC or WPD
  • WIGIMS Implementation Proposal PDF or DOC
  • Cost Spreadsheet XLS

To TOC Members, WRAP Technical Co-Chairs & Interested Stakeholders:

Please find the copy of notes from today's call regarding the WIGIMS (WRAP Integrated Geospatial Information Management Strategy) Project that the TOC is currently considering above. A July 7th dated "WIGIMS Implementation Proposal" and Cost Spreadsheet is available on the TOC page of the WRAP website: http://wrapair.org/forums/toc/docs.html#wigims

The effort would take between 9-12 months to complete, and would have an overall cost of $167,660. At the conclusion of the project, an infrastructure and single entry point would be in place to provide flexible discovery, evaluation, and access to the primary WRAP data (emissions, monitoring & modeling). These data will have been integrated in space and time, and will available for both GIS type visualization and for computational data analyses. All information would be available via a standard website, open to WRAP stakeholders and the general public.

After listening to the Pangaea presentation it was concluded that the TOC needed to consider the proposal internally, without the contractor present, to allow free and open discussion of the merits of the proposal. Representatives from the WRAP data providers (ie/ RMC, VIEWS, EDMS & etc) will be asked to be present in order discuss how their data usage might be affected by this proposal. A tentative call schedule was selected for July 13th at 2:00 PM Mountain, to review and act on the proposal. If you would like to participate and have concerns over this call timing, please provide comments to Tom Moore (MooreT@cira.colostate.edu) by COB July 9th. Tom will provide the finalized schedule and logistics after this input close.

Thanks for your interest in the WRAP TOC activities. ..................Lee
