7.0   AGRICULTURAL WIND BLOWN DUST

AP-42 does not include a section on PM emissions from agricultural wind erosion. Thus, the methodology adopted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in July 1997 is presented as the primary emissions estimation methodology in lieu of an official EPA methodology for this fugitive dust source category. The sample control measure cost-effectiveness calculation spreadsheet presented for this source category involves applying a mulch to the agricultural field at a rate of 1,000 pounds of mulch per acre.
