10.0   Agricultural Harvesting

Section 9 of EPA’s Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors (AP-42) lists PM7 emission factors for harvesting three different crops. It does not address PM10 emissions. Thus, the methodology adopted by the California Air Resources Board in January 2003 is presented as the primary emissions estimation methodology for this fugitive dust source category. The sample control measure cost-effectiveness calculation spreadsheet presented for this source category involves the use of a GPS for precision farming to reduce the overlap of harvesting passes by 8%.
