Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories and Forecasts   CCS

Over the last nine months, the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) has been working with nine WRAP states to develop greenhouse gas emissions inventories and forecasts (1990, 2005, and 2020). Members of the CCS team will present results from these assessments, including information from Western states that previously completed inventories and forecasts in order to give a complete regional picture.

The Climate Registry

Over the last six months, WRAP Board representatives and participated with other states from across the country who establish a multi-state and tribal greenhouse gas registry. Registry will incorporate in March 2007 and will hold its meeting in May 2007. All Western states and tribes are eligible members of The Registry. WRAP members and staff will Board on The Registry process to date and highlight next opportunities for WRAP states and tribes to participate.

Regional Air Quality Issues

At the September Board meeting in Montana, the Tribal Caucus presented a summary of air quality issues of concern to Western tribes. Also, Western states and federal land managers are working to address a number of regional air quality challenges in addition to regional haze. The WRAP Board will explore these issues and identify options for working collaboratively to address them. This discussion will include exploring how the technical and analytical tools developed by WRAP can aid Western states, tribes, and federal land managers as they address other air quality issues of concern.
